Flying high with White Sheet Radio Flying Club
2026 sees White Sheet Radio Flying Club soar into its 51st year at one of Britain’s finest slope sites. Perched high on the rolling chalk downs of Wiltshire, White Sheet Hill offers superb lift and big skies, we’re proud to have flown here for over half a century. From the balsa-built beginnings to today’s impressive scale models, tradition and progress fly side by side. Modern composite gliders share the slope with beautifully crafted vintage designs, while fast F3F racers, elegant F5J thermal soarers, PSS, DLG, and foam favourites like the Zagi and Ahi ensure there’s a place in the sky at White Sheet Radio Flying Club for everyone.
Whether you’re taking your first steps into RC flying or you’ve been on the sticks for decades, WSRFC offers good company, shared know-how, plenty of laughter and a genuinely warm welcome.

This year membership is free for under-18s and only £16 for everyone else. All memberships run January to December, outstanding value for year round access to one of the country’s finest slope sites.

We have two exciting events coming up at White Sheet in April:
Sunday 12th April — SCALE is ON
Join us for a full day of scale modelling action! Whether you fly sleek modern or vintage scale aircraft, this event is the perfect opportunity to showcase your models and share tips with fellow enthusiasts. All skill levels are welcome, and spectators are always amazed by the realism on display, static and in the air.
Sunday 19th April — OPEN SLOPES
Come and enjoy our Open Slopes day, ideal for soaring enthusiasts flying gliders all classes! From fun foamies to high-performance slope planes, this event is a great chance to fly in the beautiful White Sheet conditions, meet other pilots, and take your flying to new heights.

Two possible options for this weekend, both offering a classic April mix of sunshine and showers, but with a fair chance of some decent flying windows between them.
Forecast for the day is WSW around 15mph, which should suit White Sheet nicely.
As always, a bit of flexibility will be the key, but there’s every reason to get out and make the most of it.
